You asked and we listened. J Taylor Education and The Center for Depth and Complexity is excited to release our Asynchronous Courses! Educators can either take our 6-hour, or 3-hour Depth and Complexity courses – all asynchronously at their own pace. Upon completion, educators will receive a certificate that can be printed or saved in PDF format to notate their completed hours. Best of all, our practitioner expert trainers are the ones who designed all of our courses. Educators will be learning from other educators who use Depth and Complexity with students every day!
Currently, we have one 6-hour and three 3-hour courses to choose from, detailed below. We are working on our 30-hour asynchronous course for Texas G/T programs and that will be released in Fall of 2023. Once purchased, access instructions will be sent to the customer through email.
Differentiating with Depth and Complexity
This 6-hour asynchronous course will provide participants with an introduction to the Depth and Complexity Framework. The Depth and Complexity Framework is used in thousands of schools and districts to create appropriately differentiated and rigorous learning experiences for all students. Learn how to leverage the elements of Depth & Complexity to create a classroom environment of differentiation.
Making Depth and Complexity Work for ME!
This 3-hour asynchronous course will provide participants with practical ways to incorporate the Depth and Complexity Framework into instructional practices to create appropriately differentiated learning experiences for all students. The course will equip teachers with several low-prep ways to modify current lessons to empower critical and creative thinking. Participants should have a working knowledge of the Depth and Complexity Framework prior to joining this course.
Connecting Content Imperatives and Planning for Differentiated Learning with Depth and Complexity
This 3-hour, asynchronous course will prompt participants will investigate the Content Imperatives and learn how to layer them with the icons of Depth and Complexity to plan activities and lessons that are easily differentiated. This course will provide teachers with meaningful tools and strategies for quick, straightforward planning that will transform their classroom into an environment in which student intellect and critical thinking are the focus.
Thinking Like a Disciplinarian and Universal Concepts and Generalizations
