Across Disciplines
The Across Disciplines icon invites learners to make connections among many subjects. When students use Across Disciplines as their lens of learning, they look for the relationships within and between disciplines.
Curricular Examples:
- Classify the symbols and artistic knowledge necessary used by cartographers.
- Judge with criteria several aspects of human behavior and society as expressed in literature, history, and art.
- Illustrate research findings using data points, diagrams, and multimedia presentations.
- Compare and contrast biographies about influential mathematicians, scientists, or artists.
Question Stems:
- What information would a chemist prioritize in regards to data collection and scientific experiments?
- How would an archaeologist categorize examples of change in science, social studies, math, and language arts?
How could genealogists learn from anthropologists?
Task Statement:
Students will make connections among multiple subject areas across disciplines based on a variety of current event articles, and judge with criteria the various points of view in a debate.
